Why is my report timing out in SpecConnect?

Some SpecConnect Reports may fail from time to time due to a time-out error:

This error may occur for a variety of reasons, but most commonly tends to occur when attempting to run a report over an extended date range during which there is an unusually large volume of data being queried for the report, e.g., running a report over a year or more for a device which logs data on 5-minute intervals or running a report with a large number of sensors select. Having said that these time-outs can sometimes occur intermittently during periods when SpecConnect is busy performing other competing tasks. In these cases it might be possible to re-run the report successfully after a short period of time, e.g., 15-30 mins or running the report using:

  • A shorter date range
  • A smaller set of sensors (Multi Station/Sensor Report)
